As a child, my biggest obsessions were The Hunger Games (I was convinced I would win… I still am) and music. An odd pairing, but one that has shaped who I’ve become today. Growing up, I thought I would become a professional Jazz musician. After training and competing in classical flute for 10 years and Jazz saxophone for 6 years, I realized that I loved being in front of an audience, but acting had taken a new position in my love for performance. By the time I graduated from my performing arts high school, I was completely engulfed by the Nickelodeon “Victorious” fever dream of doing theatre and musical theatre in a performing arts high school.
At 18, I moved 2,500 miles from Los Angeles to New York City, where I found my love for experimental and thought-provoking theatre, bilingual performance, and work that leaves me wondering long after I experience it. My dream of attending music school became a recent graduation with my BFA in Drama from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, The Meisner Studio, and Atlantic Acting School. While I still hold music close to my heart, my passion has pivoted towards Electronic music in my work as a DJ (this is loathed by my musician grandfather). As for my love for The Hunger Games… that’s still as prevalent as ever, but has influenced my love for all things dystopian, drama, and horror.
